Entering Nevada

We headed into Nevada to leave the heat of Utah. Out of sheer desperation we booked a hotel outside of Las Vegas to get some air conditioning (remember that previous post where the camper could not get cool?). Beau had some points from his travel days with work and we stayed in a lovely Westin with a pool, air conditioning and soft beds! We were blessed to have our dear friend, Bill, visit us from the east coast. It was so good to see a friend we love so dearly and get to spend such wonderful time with him. And remember that haircut Beau gave me in Colorado? I used this time to "fix" that and had a professional recut it.

After leaving that place of respite we went further into Las Vegas (near the strip but not on it) to continue our relaxation time while seeing a good friend of Beau's from work. He was kind enough to host us for dinner at his house one evening and give us the inside scoop on where to go in Las Vegas while staying safe and keeping the kid's eyes pure.

Bill found a great restaurant called Herbs & Rye that offers a 3 hour happy hour on steaks where the steaks are 50% off! Couldn't pass that up! We introduced the kids to their first fancy steak house and it was a roaring success. Did you know that anyone under 21 is not even allowed into a bar/bar area in Nevada? News to us.
