Tough loss snaps the nation's longest win streak

Disappointing loss but we had a great time! And what a stadium! Everyone was right when they told us this place was loud. Good gracious! We were intimidated of the fans going into LSU, having heard they were ruthless. But these fans were very welcoming, inviting, friendly and warm to us throughout the whole day. Even after beating us, they were gracious and did not rub our faces in it. Keep it classy Louisiana.

Bourbon Street

Beau and I finished our evening of fun on none other than the famous Bourbon Street! This place is crazier than I thought! I told Beau that New Orleans felt like a mix between Las Vegas and Charleston. :)

My surprise dinner!

Beau surprised me with a jaunt to New Orleans and a great dinner! We first went to a small restaurant for a cocktail in which I tried a French 75. It can be made a few ways, but traditionally has gin, champagne, lime juice and lemon juice. Very refreshing! We then walked down the street to Commander's Palace. It's a very famous restaurant in the Garden District. We had a very delicious dinner with exceptional service. I'll write more on this later. It was such a fun evening and such a wonderful surprise! I (Kathryn) loved it!

Dinner with friends

One of the loves we share with Martin and Ivania is food and going out to eat. We very much enjoyed ourselves at their favorite local pizza joint. It was so nice to be with friends sharing a meal.

Trojanowskis

We went to visit Martin and Ivania in Birmingham, as well as meet little Sofia for the first time. She is a beautiful baby with such a calm and sweet demeanor. It's obvious that Martin and Ivania are enamored with her.

New Orleans

Beau surprised me with a trip to New Orleans! We had breakfast at Cafe Dumond this morning. Beinets and cafe lattes this morning hit the spot!

To Chill

Argos likes to chill out by the pool like everyone else! :)

Happy Hour

Prior to Jamie Lee's wedding at Alhambra Hall, Beau and I met up with Nicole and Jen at Bambu for some much-needed catch up and laughs. We had a great time, as usual.

The Wilcot

The day following the dove hunt, we had breakfast with Dave and Robyn in Aiken at The Wilcot. I still remember my delicious almond French toast. Yum!

Excited

Beau is very excited about some Gamecock football.

Louisiana!

Beau and I are headed to Louisiana this weekend to watch the Gamecocks play the LSU Tigers. Hopefully it will be another stompin’ like it was on Georgia last weekend!

We’ll be stopping in Birmingham, AL tonight to see Martin and Ivania and their new little one. We’re excited to see friends, see Baton Rouge and cheer on the Gamecocks!

Here’s to another road trip!

Gameday!

Once in a lifetime! One of the best Gamedays in history! We put a whoopin' on Georgia! To quote the HBC "they may have owned us in the past but they can't say that anymore." Not after 3 in a row. Now getting ready for away game to LSU.

Venison

Our venison stroganoff for dinner tonight! I love the mushrooms!

Laptop Privacy Sweater

Ribeye and Gorgonzola

I made the following sandwich for Beau for dinner last night:

Ribeye and Gogonzola Sandwich

Ribeye, sliced thin (cooked or raw)

Arugula

Butter

French Bread

Gorgonzola cheese

I browned the meat in some butter and got a nice char on the edges. Toast the bread with some butter, get it nice and crispy like Beau likes. Top the bread with arugula, steak and as much gorgonzola as you like. Heaven! Really. Beau’s description was, “There is an orchestra of flavors going on in my mouth!” He loved it.
