From Utah, we drove south to the Grand Canyon for a night on the north rim sleeping in the bed of our truck. Imagine, if you will, pulling the mattress from Gray's top bunk in the camper, putting it in the bed of our truck, packing it with pillows and the two adults, two children and a medium dog sleeping together in what is essentially a tad bit bigger than a twin. We were snug! Which was actually nice for Caroline and I as it got quite cold sleeping under the stars in the desert.
We ventured into the Grand Canyon at a part that most don't see. The north rim, particularly where we went doesn't have guardrails or rangers or anyone monitoring and watching for safety. It was completely open and free to the exploring we wanted to do!
