He's Back!

Beau is back from Montana/Canada and I couldn’t be more thrilled. His flight came in early last night so unfortunately I wasn’t there waiting on him for the dramatic reunion I was dreaming about. J But we reunited in the pick-up line at the airport. He shared stories with me all the way home and late into the night. He came home with a lovely full beard, which I wish he could keep. (There’s something about a man with facial hair. ) I’m so glad he’s home.

Glacier National Park... Check

Great trip backpacking through Glacier with (from left) Joe and Mike Konen, Bob Aucker and myself. Trip took us from East Glacier to just short of Logan Pass in 5 days and 50+ miles. We went over the Triple Divide where water would flow to either the Atlantic, Pacific, or Gulf. We camped with moose and saw a black bear with her cubs. Really great adventure but looking forward to heading home to my beautiful bride, pup, and wonderful life. More pictures to come.

Day 2

Day 2 of Beau being gone. Still staying busy. Donna and I had dinner last night at Tokyo Bistro. Yum! I did some much-needed shopping for “this and that”. I packed up the car this morning to head to NC this afternoon. Argos jumped right up into the way back of the Subaru. He wanted to go too. Let me just explain that we usually have to coax Argos into getting into the way back. But not today. He knows that Daddy is gone and Mom is leaving too. He’s sad. Poor guy. But he gets to spend the weekend with GM and Frazier and I’ll pick him up on Sunday!

Popster

Visiting the Popster!

Day 1

Day 1 of Beau being gone and it’s been busy. I visited Pop-Pop yesterday and then stopped by the Redbox and came home to mow the lawn, front and back. Man or man, we have some thick grass! Took a shower, fed the A-man, made a cake, heated up dinner, did some laundry and watched The Iron Lady. I’m trying to stay busy so it’s not as noticeable that Beau is away. Argos did a good job of following me everywhere all night and sitting by on the couch. I felt very protected and loved. J

A little bit Montana and a little bit Canada

We have a great itinerary and looking forward to getting started in the morning.

To Montana He Goes

I dropped Beau off at the airport this morning for his backpacking trip in Montana. The tears and simultaneous happiness took me by surprise. I’m going to miss him a lot and standing there in front of security I realized just how much. I’m so thrilled for him that he has the vacation time, we have the money and he has the friends that he can take this backpacking trip each year. It’s so important for him to continue doing the things that give him joy and peace and let him explore.

While he’s away, I’m visiting family and friends and starting back to school in our Fall semester.

Pray for Beau while he’s away:

1.       Safe travels

2.       Site of bears in a very far distance J

3.       Good rest

4.       The building of friendships

5.       No anxiety for leaving

6.       No injuries

7.       Growth

I’ll miss you “sweets”.

Carl's Birthday

In the limo!

Chillin with Carl

We headed up to Myrtle this weekend to celebrate Carl's 32 birthday. Tonight we are taking a party bus, a stretchedcalade to be exact, to go bar hopping. Today we ate at the Dunes Club, had an archery contest (too much Olympics I guess), and wore Arg out playing ball in Carl's pool. Fun times with more pictures to come I'm sure.

Our first dinner in the new house

Well it was our first in the dining room. We now have chairs and Karen, K, and I enjoyed a meal together.

Grazing at Graze

My beautiful bride bought mom a Chinese head messager when we were in DC and we gave it to her when Mom took us out for a bite at Graze. Good eats.

It's not Thursday, but I'm thankful

Rosa and I gathered a group of people from work to support Chick-Fil-A today. I think there were nine of us. And I’ll say, I’m really thankful for Chick-Fil-A.

1.       A great chicken sandwich, whether it’s grilled, fried or spicy.

2.       Great service. They serve you quickly, correctly and with a smile.

3.       The entire restaurant, including the bathrooms are always clean.

4.       They work to give to scholarships to their employees and help them succeed, no matter who they are.

5.       And somewhat to my dismay, they are closed on Sundays, being an example that Sunday is a day of rest, regardless of the loss of revenue.

6.       They are not afraid to state their beliefs and allow the world to know it. They share those beliefs in love. They do not shove them in anyone’s face. They are not ashamed.

I love Chick-Fil-A. Beau and I will be patrons in their Mt Pleasant establishment tonight as well. J
