After eight years of being strong and fighting through colon cancer, my Aunt Becky met the Lord Saturday morning.
Aunt Becky was a woman full of energy and excitement. She truly demonstrated the phrase “living life to the fullest”. She and my Uncle Dennis were more than a married couple, they were best friends and truly wanted to spend every moment together. She loved her “gurls” and that was obvious.
Throughout her battle with cancer Aunt Becky trusted the Lord for strength, grace in the midst of a fight, love for people and joy in her heart. Her last wish was to see her first grandchild. And that she did.
It’s easy to look at her death as unfair, and in many respects it is. But think of the joy and the gift in her being able to hold her grandson. That was never promised, yet God gave. We are so thankful.
Today, we’re praying that each time we look at little Dennis Wade Cooper, we will remember the life of his grandmother, Becky Moran. And we will remember that he was gift given to that family as a testament to God’s goodness and grace.
