Aunt Becky
After eight years of being strong and fighting through colon cancer, my Aunt Becky met the Lord Saturday morning.
Aunt Becky was a woman full of energy and excitement. She truly demonstrated the phrase “living life to the fullest”. She and my Uncle Dennis were more than a married couple, they were best friends and truly wanted to spend every moment together. She loved her “gurls” and that was obvious.
Throughout her battle with cancer Aunt Becky trusted the Lord for strength, grace in the midst of a fight, love for people and joy in her heart. Her last wish was to see her first grandchild. And that she did.
It’s easy to look at her death as unfair, and in many respects it is. But think of the joy and the gift in her being able to hold her grandson. That was never promised, yet God gave. We are so thankful.
Today, we’re praying that each time we look at little Dennis Wade Cooper, we will remember the life of his grandmother, Becky Moran. And we will remember that he was gift given to that family as a testament to God’s goodness and grace.

Thankful Thursday - Take 33
693. The example of a fun, happy and solid such as my Aunt Becky and Uncle Dennis’.
694. Seeing Aunt Becky, Uncle Dennis and Emmie this morning before work.
695. Seeing Abbey and Wade last night.
696. That as one life leaves us, a new life is given to us. A true gift from the Lord.
697. A gracious professor that has allowed us to redo some work to get a better grade.
698. A professor that has taken an interest in me and Beau and is pointing us in some good directions for schooling.
699. Time at home with the hubster. These days it’s so few and far between that I really cherish those moments.
700. Frozen pizza. What a great option for dinner when you have nothing thawed and you haven’t even THOUGHT about what you (meaning me) would cook for dinner.
701. A great time at home with the family. Jenn’s little baby boy was born! Evan Alexander Patterson. So cute! (See attached picture.)
702. Talks with mom as we sat in the sun room talking at night.
703. The opportunity to support my sister and help.
704. Safe drive there and back.
705. Soap and water. My hands get so dirty at work. I’m really thankful I can wash them.
706. An understanding boss.
707. Growth opportunities through humility and seeing weakness. It’s nice to know I’m not stagnant.
708. Yoga. Flexibility is really nice.
709. Vacuum. I never thought I would say that. But with dog hair everywhere, I’m glad I’m not forced to use only a broom and dustpan.
710. And for that matter, I’m thankful for a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, hairdryer, etc. Those luxuries that make life more simple.
711. The hubster’s willingness and volunteer attitude to pick up our CSA vegetables every Tuesday. Love it!
712. A stocked refrigerator, freezer and pantry.
713. Little Dennis Wade Cooper was born! Congratulations Abbey and Wade! (He’s the one with his fist in his mouth.)

Homemade
Our almost completely homemade meal. We made the fries okra, the bread, the salad dressing and the cilantro chimichurri. Delicious Saturday night. I often wonder if we will be eating like this when we have children. Hmmm...

Mustache
Look, Kathryn has a mustache.
I’m not sure how we got here. Beau started doing this to make me look like I had a mustache and when he’s trying to be silly and/or make me laugh, this is what he does.

Sweetness
I came home yesterday to find this sweet note waiting on me in the refrigerator.
[ Beau is out of town (down the street at Isle of Palms) on business and had to stay in a hotel.]
And yes, my refrigerator is way too full of leftovers that we’re working on eating. J

My Awesome Husband
My awesome husband is outside pressure washing everything he can on the outside of our house. He has done the driveway, the sidewalk, the front porch, the steps, the back porch and steps and the screened porch. It looks so much better. He does so much to keep our house looking amazing! Way to go Mr. Evans!
