Birthday Nigh

Naturally, on the night of their first birthday we did a tiny little celebration with some cupcakes after dinner. The pictures really do quite simply show you each child’s personality to a tee. Caroline is slow and steady, picking off tiny little bites while pondering the flavor of the strawberry (yeah right). While Gray would have stuffed the whole cupcake in his mouth at one time if his mouth were big enough. He basically destroyed it as you can see. They enjoyed it and we loved watching it. That “celebration” resulted in baths for everyone!

Beau and I were thinking back to that day one year ago, trying to remember what we were doing. Oh yeah, we were feeding babies, not sleeping, changing diapers and looking for anyone to offer a suggestion as to what we should be doing. It was chaos! But what a great day!

We started off the day with me in front of the stove making breakfast for everyone in the house and ended the day with someone serving me a smoothie for dinner while I served dinner to two tiny little ones that were apparently starving after their tiresome journey into this world. I keep playing little pieces of that day over and over in my head praying to God that I never forget them. They’re too precious.
